An excellent and sobering analysis once again. Europe’s political class has indeed trapped itself in a web of moral posturing and strategic delusion. What began as a proxy effort to “weaken Russia” has devolved into a self-destructive war of attrition that Europe can neither finance nor sustain. The refusal to negotiate is less about Ukraine’s interests than about preserving political face in Brussels, Berlin, and Paris.

The irony is that the longer Europe denies reality, the more it erodes its own industrial, fiscal, and social resilience while Russia adapts and consolidates. The true crisis is no longer military but civilizational. Europe has lost the capacity for strategic realism, preferring ideology to statecraft.

The political class of Europe has no foresight, unlike those who have gone before. The way they perform the diplomatic task beggars belief. A full lack of intelect and ability. In my mind, a laughing stock.
