The whole idea of starting another bank (which would be more bureaucrats to pay, and pensions, and probably buildings, etc) seems to me to be just more narrative. They seem to think, or more likely want us to think, that creating a bank creates money inside it? It doesn't create the money they're looking for, nor the capacity to produce what they want to spend the money on. All politicians these days seem to know how to do, is rearrange narratives. The lengths human beings will go to, to avoid changing their minds about something, even in the face of overwhelming evidence, is very disheartening. It seems to take a catastrophe every time. Thanks for keeping the mirror up there, Ian.
