Except that there isn’t going to be a ceasefire. Why would the Russians be stupid enough to accept that? Did the Soviets agree to a ceasefire with the Wehrmacht in December 1944 to let the Germans focus on giving everything to the Ardennes counteroffensive?
"Typical dirty mouthed replys"? If you were speaking of Trump, I would agree with you but I don't think Medvedev comes anywhere close in the bad language department to the US President.
Lithium is big these days. Deep State wants the Lithium in both North Carolina and Ukraine (which for centuries has belonged to Russia). Hence the targeted weaponized warfare destruction of North Carolina. Deep State getting that control in Ukraine - Blackrock - could prove more a threat to Russia than NATO.
Any territory outside the 4 regions captured (instead of returned) is really just a effect of Russia doing it’s best to dismantle NATO by killing men (and now boys), machines, and EU money/wealth in the most efficient way possible for Russia. The costs to make whole any capture areas in order to make them productive again probably outweighs any benefit. The further West Russia goes, the less valuable in land, the more useless man-power becomes. Suggest making friends at the pub with a few decent engineers who’ve now retired so you can bounce some of the ideas off of them and see how they react.
Personally, I believe the captures of the mines are just a by-product of the captured territory.
The strip of land captured by Russia along the coast towards Kherson is relatively vulnerable and I believe they just want to fatten the cigar i.e. broaden that strip for defensive purposes.
I read somewhere (absolutely credible i.e. industry-related source) that the lithium deposit hasn't been tapped, yet it has been known about for four decades, which strikes me as odd somehow. Given Ukraine's reputation for corruption I wouldn't be surprised if the figures are wildly exaggerated. I mean, until a spade's gone in, how do you know there are 14 million tons? In fact, having been subjected to the western media's systematic lying about all things Ukraine in recent years, I wouldn't be surprised if there was no lithium there and they'd made it all up.
Only one way to find out. Hand a spade to the fat toilet maggot and tell him to start digging...

You make a good point and I agree Russia has a stronger hand in deciding when to draw a line. Let's see how soon that is.
Oddly enough, I am just writing a Substack article about the “dash for minerals”, seen in the light of the Melian Dialogue.
“[R]ight, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must…
"Of the gods we believe, and of men we know, that by a necessary law of their nature they rule wherever they can”.
Not sure if Donald Trump is a man or a god, but either way… Luckily Russia is the USA’s equal in power, and China its superior. Should be interesting.

They can take their time. I doubt there’s a ceasefire any time soon.
