Great piece Ian. Accurate imo of the timeline of this conflict and honest in your analysis of the “root causes”, a phrase consistently repeated by Russia, then studiously ignored by western media but now mocked. Really infantile behaviour!

Thanks, David. Infantile indeed!

Thank you for the intelligent analysis. The tide will eventually turn and common sense will prevail. The Bullingdon/Etonian bullies running the UK may have to go for good for that to happen, but that will be good riddance anyway.

Thank you for your kind comments and I agree with your sentiment. Although, it seems, the big Buller BJ is already planning a Trumpian comeback, sadly.

The people running the UK are talking cheerfully about preparing for ww3 and making us workers pay for it in every possible way while they sit safely someplace. I’m not actually convinced any of our so called leaders have much, if any, common sense, unfortunately.

I’m not convinced either.

For the sake of argument, if Russia were to sign a peace treaty too soon after this drone attack - on terms appearing to cede far fewer of her (Russia’s) original demands - western gloating could well become so insufferable to the hard liners in Moscow, who might the depose Putin and return to the battlefield using all the weapons at their disposal, especially against NATO, and those European NATO members who were more prominent in helping Ukraine to ‘victory.’

Out of an uneasy, short-lived peace, the dreaded nuclear could well become a reality. I can’t see Putin making anything but the most token of concessions in the near term, precisely to preempt such a coup mounted by the hard liners.

Churchill did use chemical weapons against Bolshevik Russia. What will Zelensky use in his desperate attempt to stay in power?
